fever
I really didn't catch Olympic fever, but I might have a serious bout of World Cup fever coming soon. To make matters worse, our household won't have a television for World Cup this summer.

One of us thinks Monday is the hardest day of the week. The other thinks Wednesday is.

curling gold in 2014
While watching curling with our LA dad, he says, "If Koreans took this up, they'd be really good at it."

Fat Tuesday
For Lent, one of us is giving up chocolate and ice cream. The other is giving up beer and fried foods. Tonight's menu: Beer-battered fried chocolate ice cream.

recall
I've had a number of people express concern about our Prius. No worries. The only thing that's been recalled on our particular model is the floormat.

drunken roots
I've stopped defending Bakersfield years ago, but this latest survey doesn't really help the cause. Bako is considered the No. 10 drunkest city in America. Congratulations, Bakersfield.

tv or not tv, that is the question
We're a tv-less house, too, but we do watch our fair share on our laptop. Right now, Modern Family cracks me up.
I've been in San Francisco the past 2 days for work and I love being back. I love meeting friends for lunch, I love how everything is so accessible, I love the food options, I love wearing coats and scarves. I had dinner with some high school friends and walked around downtown a bit. I miss it.
My parents seem to have forgotten about me though. No empty nest syndrome there. I came home after dinner only to find the house locked. They went out, didn't take a cell phone, and forgot to leave the door open for me. Luckily I only sat out in the cold for 20 minutes.
My mom and I also watched 'The Ultimate Cake-Off.' Iz texted me earlier to tell me she caught a glimpse of us. My mom only noticed Danny. She asked me where I was. Sad.
And this morning, old faithful MUNI had problems on my way in to work. It's taunting me asking, "YOU LOVE SF! DID YOU MISS ME??" I still haven't decided what's worse... MUNI problems or sitting in traffic.

home alone
While C didn't go to Paris and forget to bring me along, I am, indeed, home alone for the next two days. I think I'll try my hand at shaving and befriend the local shovel-carrying senior citizen.
